I Have Found A Stray Animal. What Do I Do?
If you find a stray dog or cat, your first point of contact should be your local council or the Launceston Dogs Home
Here’s what we do when you bring in a stray:
- Check for a microchip – We scan the animal to identify ownership.
- Assess their health – We provide basic medical care if needed.
- Contact the registered owner – if a chip is found.
- If unclaimed, we may refer the animal to the appropriate animal shelter or council pound, depending on the area.
We always act in the best interest of the animal and will help ensure it’s safe and cared for.
